St. Martin Hall

As a prospective resident, you must:
1.) Be eligible (have sophomore status upon moving into St. Martin Hall.)
2.) Submit an application.
3.) Pay the $100 non-refundable application fee for Fall 2024 – this should be paid through The Office of
Student Accounts with Duquesne University.
Application submission is the way we know you are interested in living with us! Please note that ALL prospective residents must submit an application and application fee to let us know they are interested in living with us! So if you are interested in living with another student, please ensure they apply too!

No. The date you apply has nothing to do with your lottery number. Applications are open January 1-31, 2024 in order to participate in Virtual Housing Selection. Housing selection is conducted through a lottery system in which numbers are randomly generated based on student’s class status. So after January 31, when all applications are submitted, we will review to ensure that students who apply also submitted their application fees. Students who have applied and submitted their application fee by January 31, 2024 will be given randomly generated lottery numbers.

Yes. You will not receive a lottery number if you do not pay the application fee by January 31, 2024.
Please make payment through The Office of Student Accounts indicating payment is the application fee for Fall 2024. The application fee applies to the first installment of rent. The application fee is non-refundable so if a student decides at a later date to not live on campus, they forfeit their housing deposit.

All billing is conducted through The Office of Student Accounts with Duquesne University. For St. Martin Hall – billing is conducted in 2 installments (fall and spring). The housing award can be applied.

St. Martin Hall leases will be August 22, 2024 – May 12, 2025.

Leases will be sent the week of February 11, 2025. Residents and their guarantors will have 2 weeks to read and sign the lease in order to secure the space for 2024-2025.

Signing a lease for St. Martin Hall affords you many opportunities that are different than living on campus elsewhere! Residents of St. Martin Hall will be a part of the Second Year Experience Community where they will have opportunities to develop skills in the areas of career exploration, leadership, and service to their community. Additionally, there are additional amenities that are unique to our community. An in building fitness center, 4 game rooms, community kitchens, and spacious study areas allow much flexibility and support. In each unit there are kitchenettes and private and semi-private bathrooms. Additionally, our residents are welcome to stay throughout the entire lease period. The meal plan is optional for residents in St. Martin Hall. And for students interested in a meal plan, they can sign up with Parkhurst Dining for a specialized St. Martin Hall meal plan.

Fully furnished apartments, with extra-long twin sized beds, utilities and communal laundry, kitchenette and bathroom in each apartment, 24 hour fitness center, 24 hour front desk, emergency maintenance on call, communal kitchens, game rooms, and study lounges throughout the community.

On February 2, 2024 students will receive an email confirming their housing lottery number and date/time to join the Virtual Room Selection to select housing for 2024-2025.

You may select a proxy person to select in your stead. This person can be a roommate, friend, or trusted person. Whomever you select, please ensure you let us know by submitting a 2024-2025 Room Selection Proxy Request form, which will be found on our Campus Link page.

Leases will be sent via email to the students’ email addresses. Once the student signs their lease, it will ping to their guarantor’s email for signing. Students and their guarantors will have 2 weeks to complete their lease signing to secure their space.

Brottier Hall

As a current resident, you do NOT need to resubmit an application! However, you must complete the Future Housing Intention (FHI) form. It will be available to you on Campus Link on January 3, 2024 and is due January 31, 2024. Reminder emails will be sent to you and we will post signage in the building as well as on social media. Stay tuned!

Please let us know via the Future Housing Intention (FHI) form that you do not plan to return to Brottier Hall next year. All current residents must complete the FHI form.

On your Future Housing Intention form, be sure to complete by indicating you wish to move from one building to the other. You will need to log into Zoom on the date/time you are given to participate in Virtual Room Selection to select space for 2024-2025. More specific information will be emailed to you the week of February 12, 2024.

On your Future Housing Intention form, be sure to complete by indicating you wish to move to a different unit within the building. Because you are a returning resident, you will receive priority in the housing selection process. You will need to log into Zoom on the date/time you are given to participate in Virtual Room Selection to select space for 2024-2025. The FHI opens at 12pm on January 3, 2024. The FHI is due at 11:59pm on January 31, 2024.

Please email us at brottier@cocm.com to change your guarantor or their contact information. Please provide the following details to update: guarantor’s first and last names, email address, phone number, and mailing address. Note: your guarantor cannot make this change for you!

In order to renew your lease to the same apartment:
1.) At lease 50% of current residents within the apartment must intend to renew to the same unit. 2.) Fill the apartment.
For example: Natasha lives in a Brottier Hall One Bedroom Double and wants to return to the same unit but her current roommate does not. Natasha can renew to the same apartment contingent upon her “pulling in” a person to fill the open bed in her apartment. This person must be eligible to live in the building by:
1. Submitting a completed online application
2. Paying the $100 non-refundable application fee through Student
Accounts/CASHnet.
3. Be at least a Junior upon moving into the building
*Please note that if you currently live in a Double and want to select it as a Deluxe, you can do so.

July 16, 2024 is the lease end date for the Brottier Hall lease for 2023-2024. August 21, 2024 is the Brottier Hall lease start date for 2024-2025. Residents returning for the next lease cycle who wish to remain in the building between lease terms must follow all policies and procedures as outlined by the Brottier Hall staff. These residents will be permitted to remain in the building between lease periods. Residents moving from one apartment to another must be available during the week of August 1-8 to move apartments. More details will be communicated after leases are signed.
